The front page of this site is your typical ripped, hairless-man-body eye candy.  That’s a very nice way to start an adult site.  At this point, you can choose to browse or you can go ahead and sign up for the site.  Always browse first.

This site has it’s own instant messenger program.  I love it when matchmaking sites offer instant messenger programs…especially if the site is adult-oriented.  There’s an opportunity to get chatting with fellow members and become more quickly absorbed into the site’s community.  Also, you can start the naughty-making that much sooner and who doesn’t love that?!?

This site also has an in-site email system which is pretty typical among most matchmaking sites these days.  As a big-name site, we should expect only the best of this site.  The best, however, isn’t free.  Oh sure, there’s the usual free membership that practically has you shackled to the wall (not in a good way), so in order to really experience this site, you’ve got to shell out some cash.

Before getting to the money part, I must discuss the process of actually signing up for the site.  It’s pretty typical…at first.  After you’ve confirmed your email address, you go through a series of drop-down menus that answer questions about you in order to get you into searches.  The questions that are asked are pretty typical…they mostly center around looks.  There’s even a series of questions that prompt you to describe your *ahem* utensil.

Once you’ve got an account all set up and you realize that the free membership is just awful, you will want to upgrade to either a Silver or Gold membership.  Pricing breaks down as follows:

Silver Membership:  3 Months is $11.32 a month (billed in one installment of $33.96) and 12 Months is $7.50 a month (billed in one installment of $89.96).

Gold Membership:  3 Months +1 Month FREE!! is $12.49 a month (billed in one installment of $49.96) and 12 Months + 6 Months FREE!! is $6.67 a month (billed in one installment of $119.96).

Honestly, the Silver Membership is okay.  It’s still limited, but it’s not a total rip-ff like other Silver Memberships can be.  The Gold Membership, of course, leaves the entire site spread-eagle before you so that nothing is out of your reach.

You can choose to enhance your membership by buying “extras.”  These “extras” are usually included in the all-inclusive (Gold) memberships of other sites.  It seems a nuisance to have to add these “extras” to a membership when they really should have been included in the membership in the first place.  It’s kind of a rip-off, really.

Aside from the ridiculous “extras”, this is a terrific site.  It supports an entire gay community and has an awesome instant messenger program.  While there are other gay matchmaking sites out there that are more fairly priced, you would be missing out if you did not give this site at least a peek.

If you choose to be a free member, although your access is limited, you will still be able to do quite a lot on the site. Premium membership is a little pricey in comparison to some other dating sites, but it’s not like you’re paying for nothing. There’s quite a lot more to this site than a simple personals page. It’s well worth the money. However, you do have to join the site before gaining access to the pricing list. That’s a HUGE annoyance.

Something really awesome that I noticed is that when you log in to the site, the site’s messenger pops in in the same way Yahoo! Messenger of Windows Messenger would. Usually, matchmaking sites offer messengers that are a little cheap but Gay.com’s messenger is just as loaded and sophisticated as mainstream messengers.

This site is awesome. Fabulous. In-depth. Personal. Multi-faceted. If you are a member of the gay community, I encourage you to look at this site. If you’re not looking for love, go to this site anyhow. It’s a great site.
