African American Passions is a small niche matchmaking site that belongs to the Passions Network.  This social network has over 100 smaller sites, one of them being African American Passions.  This site is made specifically for African American people and/or people who are interested in meeting them.

Signing up for this site is pretty typical.  You have to jump through a few more hoops than you might in some of your other basic matchmaking site, but they are not a nuisance.  During the sign-up process for this site, you are reminded that this is NOT an adult matchmaking site and sexually explicit material will cause your account to be deleted.  That kind of censorship can be appreciated by people looking to have simple, clean connections over the internet.

This site is also 100% free!  All sites within the Passions Network are free.  This may take away from some of the aesthetic beauty of the site, but quality isn’t compromised…not for the casual datesters out there at least.

Members can browse the blogs of other members, play old school video games either alone or with other members, or simply network within this African American Community.  Some networking aspects look a little barren, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t offered or that they aren’t awesome.  It simply means that they haven’t been properly utilized by members.  If you choose this site, try out everything!  Play with it and try to get to know everybody.  It can only make your experience more enriched.

This is a very basic site that offers some extra perks aside from the typical “SEARCH” page.  It’s 100% free and offers the African American community an opportunity to connect and network.  It’s not a site that I would recommend to find a “serious” love, but one can certainly have a lot of fun and perhaps by accident find something really special.
